Childrens Holiday Clubs – live snake encounters are a great way for children to be educated and have fun, the children love the snakey visits and we love to edutain the children and see their happy faces when they are given the opportunity to snuggle a snake or two.
Here are a few photos taken at Poolside Manor childrens holiday club, the children and the staff have such a great time we are booked to return there each year.
Some clubs have lots more children to care for than others our fees are worked out according to how many sessions we do, 25/30 children in one session is usually enough. There are usually two of us with approx 6/8 snakes per session the same as school visits.
We begin each session with a talk, a show of hatched snakes eggs and shed snake skins, talks are laced with educational fun. After the talk we show and give out the snakes, which can then be handled for about an hour, children are allowed to handle different snakes within the hour. Our snake encounters are always very relaxed and sometimes controlled bedlam but everyone has lots of fun meeting our friendly snakes.
We can run the encounters indoors or outdoors, so the weather doesn’t matter, snakes outdoors in the correct temps are great fun we often let the children see them swim and slither on the grass.
